Achievements
Designed a wellbeing-centric portal experience with a reach of 30 million employees by driving the overall UX strategy and vision through collaboration with product managers and engineers, and by leading a team of 6 designers (first major project resulting from collaboration between design and product teams)

User Experience Researcher, February 2018 – September 2018

  • Champion UX research: Created a central repository for UX design needs to build transparency between teams. Established template for UX research deliverables to be shared to merchandisers and stakeholders. Conducted UX research training sessions for merchandisers so they are empowered to conduct their own research. Leveraged research insights to propose actionable recommendations. Collaborated with UX designers, product managers, and marketing teams on user pain points and design improvements.

  • Lead user research strategy: Led usability testing process, from recruitment and test moderation to analysis and report sharing. Analyzed SessionCam recordings to gather insights around pain points and strengths in customer’s purchasing journey. Used Google Analytics to supplement SessionCam research around page performance, filter usage, data presentation, and onsite search.

  • Information architecture: Developed product organization strategy that provided an intuitive browse and selection experience. Created clear, concise product data presentations based on user and product research.

  • Cross-functional collaboration: Coordinated with copy, CGI, and search teams to create informational and visual assets. Collaborated with Product Information team to surface product data needs and ensure data accuracy.

  • Competitive analysis: Researched industry competitors around presentation and assortment to discover areas of opportunity for merchandising strategy. Interviewed users to gather feedback on competitor sites’ experiences.

Achievements
Created merchandising strategy for Storage, Visual Communication, and Office Supplies categories by conducting competitor and user research, resulting in improved product data for 36K skus and $465K in revenue within 1 year.

Digital Merchandiser, November 2013 – August 2016

  • Customer research: Established customer feedback into merchandising process. Interviewed customers to understand purchase triggers, product feedback and ordering experience. Used inbound call reports and exit survey responses to identify customer shopping trends. Created personas and customer journey map based on research, interviews and call reports. 

  • Content marketing strategy: Initiated creation of personas and customer touchpoints to inform content marketing topics and schedule. Coordinated topics with email and print catalog team for execution.

  • Innovate merchandising design: Created guided selling experiences by collaborating with product managers. Improved product page layouts to increase revenue and conversion. Promoted time-sensitive products and services by building in-page promo banners, landing pages and product boosting within category and search results.

Achievements
Created online pipe marker wizard by adding richer product data and improving usability, resulting in an increase from 1.2% to 10% conversion rate and $20,000 in revenue.
